Faith in Action

James2/17 Faith without works (action ) is dead, being alone(usless).
Heb.11/6 Without Faith it is impossible to please God
I read a true story about a christian guy who sat in church Sunday after Sunday warming the bench . The pastor delivered a message one Sunday that was .......It is easy to say that you have faith in God when all is well. When you are very comfortable in all your blessings, But what if your survival was at stake and, Day after day if God didn't provide for you.....You would die? Autually we do need God every day for every breath we take. We take that for granted. We think that we do things by our own strength. How untrue that is.........
This Guy decided to put his faith into action and He and another man went to live on the streets as homeless men for 5 months in 5 different cities. They took nothing but 2 sleeping bags and a guitar in order to panhandle for their meals. They started in a mission with the drug rehabs and other homeless. Then on to the streets, sleeping where-ever they could.... benches,bushes,parks,missions. They saw and went through much.......with those the world shun,neglect,the hungry, the addicted, in the cold, in the heat, the hurting,the sick,the mentally ill,alcoholic,the dangerous. Weeks at a time without a bath, ignored,cursed ,stepped over even by so called "Church people" God took care of them and others day by day. They saw what it was like to have nothing and still have everything(which is a loving, caring Father in Heaven)
Some homeless choose to never change, some are ill, addicted, helpless and have given up and some have lost all .....including hope.
This was a life changing 5 months that put in these men..... a heart of compassion and a need to show the love of Jesus to the people of the world we don't know that have not all that we have.........
