Counting THe Cost

Do we count the cost in what we do?
This morning as I was doing things around the house
the words of our Lord Jesus came back to me.
Who.... when starting to build or, starting a race or,
any thing does not sit down to count the cost of it?
In order to finish what we start we must have what is needed.
This is what he meant........ If we live for him ....we need him to start and to finish.
He said in this life ....anyone who lived for him would be rejected, persecuted, laughed at,
avoided, sometimes lonely, talked about, not well thought of or even liked.
Without him in us we would even think of giving up. This is why he said that you cannot please
men and God. He said that we would have to love him more than anything or anyone else.
Many have turned their back on God because their family avoided them, and their children were embarrased by them and, would not even include them in their life. Many times all that said they were friends walked away because you no longer did the things they did. People look at you like you are crazy or pitiful. You seem to be a misfit in this world because people respect anything and everything but God. Jesus knew exactly what he was talking about over 2000 years ago . His own family and friends rejected him because he walked in the light and the truth.
He knew people would care more about possessions, about what others thought, about doing their own thing, and about being accepted by people rather than God.
