Heaven and Earth will pass away, but God’s Word will never pass away; it is eternal. Transformation takes place in our lives when we make the Word our final authority. When we learn to honor His Word, giving it priority in our lives, God honors us.
Jesus said....
A. “For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled” (Matthew 5:18).
1. God’s Word is forever settled in Heaven (Psalm 119:89, Isaiah 40:8, Matthew 24:35, 1 Peter 1:25).
a. God inspired people to write the Bible. The truths contained in it were written for our learning (Romans 15:4).
b. God has magnified His Word above His name (Psalm 138:2).
c. Man does not survive only by eating physical food, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God (Deuteronomy 8:3).
d. We should make the Word of God a daily priority in our lives, not simply another source of information.
e. The Word of God must be our primary source of sustenance.
2. Job esteemed the Word of God higher than natural food (Job 23:12).
a. The Word of God is sweet like something sweet to the taste (Psalm 119:103).
b. The Word is to be searched, found, and consumed (Jeremiah 15:16).
